Frequently asked questions
Will my account get banned?
HooksBy works only through the official Instagram API, with no password and no browser bots, and stays within the limits Meta sets. No service can promise Instagram will never restrict an account, but the way HooksBy connects doesn't break the platform's rules.
Do I have to give you my Instagram password?
No. You log in through Instagram's own window and grant HooksBy access to messages and comments. We never see your password, and you can revoke access any time in your Instagram settings.
What kind of Instagram account do I need?
A professional one: Business or Creator. You can switch a personal account to professional for free in Instagram settings in a minute.
What about the 24-hour window and Meta's limits?
The first DM is a private reply to the comment, which Meta allows for 7 days after the comment. Tapping the button opens a 24-hour window for the main message with your link. Meta also caps private replies per hour. When a post goes viral, comments over the cap wait in a queue and get their DM a little later. Anyone who would wait more than 48 hours is skipped, because a DM that late looks like spam.
What happens when I hit the free plan limit?
The free plan includes 500 triggers a month. Once they're used up, new comments are skipped until the next month starts or until you upgrade to Creator Pro. We email you at 80% and 100%, and what's left is always shown in your dashboard.
Won't it look like spam?
Only people who wrote your keyword themselves get a DM. They get a short message with a button first, and the link only after a tap. A repeat comment from the same person doesn't restart the funnel right away, and you write every text yourself.
How does keyword matching work?
Add several keywords and choose a mode for each: “contains” (the word anywhere in the comment) or “exact match”. Case doesn't matter and emoji work too. Stop words keep you from replying to negative comments, or you can reply to any comment with no keyword at all.
Does HooksBy work with Telegram?
Yes. Connect your own bot from BotFather and build funnels on keywords in the bot, comments under channel posts and bot start links. There's a channel subscription check, files up to 2 GB through the bot, and broadcasts to subscribers.
How do I pay for Creator Pro and cancel?
By card through Stripe, monthly or yearly. Cancel any time from your dashboard: Creator Pro stays on until the end of the paid period, then the account moves to the free plan. The free plan needs no card.
Is it available in Ukrainian?
Yes, the app and support are in English and Ukrainian. Write the messages for your audience in any language.
